As a company policy we use good quality skins that can last for many years and we commit to minimizing waste at all levels. ABA Deri avoids using exotic leather types and farmed furs and only uses leather produced as a by-product of the food industry. We make a point of working with tanneries, which share our concern for the humane treatment of animals. We make sure that the handling and treatment of cattle is in strict compliance with the standards set forth for animal welfare and hygiene.
It is among our 2025 goals to procure 80% of our leather from Leather Working Group (LWG) Silver- and Gold-rated tanneries; and to achieve 90% transparency and mapping of our raw materials supply chains. To increase the use of vegetable tanned leather is also among our goals.
We are fully aware of our responsibility towards our employees, and we recognise the critically important role that our employees play in our success. The environment we provide is consistent with national and international standards.
Our workplace is free of power dynamics, where everyone is equal. We ensure that all employees within ABA Deri have fair opportunity for improvement based on their ability and qualifications without discrimination.
We are proud to state that the average length of service of our employees is 15 years.
